have a 94 wrx suffers with a oil leak on the o/s back edge of the rocker cover drips on to the exhaust and makes loads of levely smoke,have replaced the rocker cover gasket and plug gaskets and problem seams to have got worse,has any one ever had problems with the rubber seals on the bolts that hold the rocker cover on to the engine,have tried to follow leak but its inpossible to see where it is coming from without taking off the manifold which i dont really want to do,any help please??????????????????????????????

 

Was 3 Bond (silicon sealer) used with the gasket ? It is supposed to be, and is shown in the workshop manual.

Replace the gaskets, and more importantly the rubber washers under the bolts.

 

thanks for the advice am trying again tonight replacing gaskets,seals on bolts and using sealant as well fingers crossed.
