From speaking to a few people it seems the best fuel to run a scoobie on is Shell Optimax but ive heard too that putting in a Octane booster helps! I have an MY00 2000 AWD so do you think just Optimax fuel by itself is enough or will a booster give you better smooth performance and if you think a booster helps can you tell me the best brands to buy! Thanx

imprezza99uk -

If you do a search on this subject, you'll find a HUGE number of threads about this subject. All I can say is, I've used most, and the one I stick with ( and sell ! ) is Nitrous Formula, or NF. One bottle does around 6 tanks, or you can try a single shot bottle.

Octane boosters are a bit like beer : everybodies got their favourite, and everybody thinks their's is the best !

Assuming your car is of UK origin it will be set up for 97 octane super unleaded and will be fine either on that or Optimax (approx 98.4, depending on who you ask).

octane booster will make the car run a little smoother, and you will feel a small difference- but its not necessary with a UK ECU.

I tend to use octane booster for track days etc, but its a very expensive habit!

hope this helps,
simon

If the car is tuned this is a reasonable necessity

but as previously stated you'd be wasting your money on a UK car with warranty

I use a full bottle of NF with every fill up.... but then I have a modified car running very high advance figures which is more prone to the possibility of det..

I use Millers in my chipped Audi

I only ever use Shell optimax - anything else is as an emergency
measure......

Millers is about £2.70 a bottle and you can get NF for around £10-£11 if you buy in a reasonable quantity
