Cool

Just bought a Blitz dual turbo timer with harness for MY01 UK300.
Can anyone give me any hints and tips or an idiots guide of how to fit one. What needs to be taken apart, where the harness fits, best way to connect it to the hand brake etc.

Thanks
Steven

OK I'm fairly new to scoobynet, but hey. I've also got a dual turbo timer from Blitz, they actually make insurance void (or so I'm told) mine's hidden in the ash tray of my 93 WRX, cut the back out etc (non smoker and most people who do use the window any way) - I don't know what it's like in a MY01 bu there's an idea for you.

Take it easy

They void your insurance Why? I've had a Mitsubu one fitted, also in my ashtray to my 93 Legacy for the past two years, but I've not heard that mentioned before. As far as how to fit it goes, mine came with instructions, so I just followed them. From memory one wire went to a permanent live, one to the second stage on the ignition switch, one went to the handbrake lever sense switch, and the last one went to a microswitch fitted to the throttle pedal (I don't know whether Imprezas have these). it took me about an hour to fit, and was simply a case of removing the shroud under the steering column, clipping in the wiring, fixing the processor to something secure and putting the car back together.
The only insurance concern I can think of is that you can leave the car running, but if you touch the throttle or handbrake in my car it shuts down anyway.

If you want a real easy way of fitting a turbo-timer then buy the specific 'Harness' for the timer. They should be about £20 and it takes all that cutting and block connecting out of the picture

I have bought the harness for it, and have removed the steering shroud, but just wondered where it actually plugs in. Also, I'm looking to fit it in the ashtray, but what will need removing to do this and connect it to the handbrake, and how easy is it? From what it looks like I will have to remove the complete area over the handbrake etc, or am I making this too difficult for myself?
Thanks
Steven

fitted a blitz one around a month ago on my uk 98! mine was connected to a black plug under the steering column! just used an inline connector on the handbrake wire and fitted mine on the dash by the speedo! found quite easy as mine was taken off another car while there and fitted onto mine!
