I've just booked first service for wrx with main dealer. I said I would be bringing Mobil 1 oil, they said Subaru don't recommend any fully synthetic oil, they use magnatec semi-synthetic. Any suggestions please?

I currently use mobil 1 motorsport fully synthetic. Power Engineering used to use this but now use Shell Helix fully synthetic, can purchase the latter from Shell petrol stations.

If it's an older car use thicker oil 15w 40, also subaru engines don't like thin oils, but do use a performance oil.

Most people use the following fully synthetic oils

1. Mobil1 Motorsport 15w50
2. Motul 15w50
3. Castrol RS 10w60
