6500 miles later and I'm still get a burning smell after giving the STi7 a tazzing. I originally thought it was the wax sprayed over the engine but now I think its the clutch (ferrodo type smell)

Any thoughts anybody......

Same here. First I thought it was brake dust. Then maybe the cats?

OK now I feel better that mine is not the only smelly car, but has anyone asked their dealer what it might be.

Cool

I get he same smell (4k miles. i mentioned it to the dealer when it was serviced and the mechanic grinned and said 'if you drive it like they're supposed to be driven the clutch smells the whole time!'

I took this to mean my warranty was still intact...

Get the same on mine, (done 9800 miles). I'm convinced it's clutch because I get the smell often if I pull away a bit quickly or have to do a major hill start. Recently got the dealer to check it out but they could find nothing wrong....

Thumbs up

Funnily enough my MR2 makes the same smell also - I thought it was due to the engine being at the rear and much higher up - and that is at 99,700 miles

Give mine some stick and my clutch smells like a good one, doesn't bode well for the long term life of the little wee thingy IMHO. Still, no sign of warp like on MYO1 WRX's and it is supposed to be bigger......we will see.
