Question

On the left hand branch of the inlet manifold under the menagerie of hoses going to the the Turbo & inlet pipe is a small aluminium plug. What is this for ? coolant bleeding, Vacum testing. Any ideas anybody.

Thanks

Dean

goes straight into the manifold, I have removed it and plumbed in my boost gauge at this point.

Mine was a bugger to get out, plenty of wd40 required, and preferably a square drive socket. I used molegrips done up 'kin tight (until square was a nice wide flat).

Put my gauge in there as well. Didn't notice it at first, and was going to use a T piece for the gauge in one of the pipes.

The hole is probably for a production test on the manifold/engine.

FYI it's a 1/8 BSP tapped hole with BSP taper, (so Autometer fittings helpfully have to be re-tapped to fit - better than having loads of adaptor pieces.)

I didn't re-tap hole, just wound it in with a little PTFE tape, no problem.

I didn't retap the hole either! - just the not quite right connector I got with the gauge - the last thing I wanted was swarf in the manifold
