I've just bought a pollen filter to fit my MY99 (from the dealer), but cannot work out where it goes, despite having fitting instructions...
I'm beginning to think it's only for cars with air-con, which I don't have. Anybody know where it goes?

It should be mounted in a box under the glove compartment. I think you'll have to make a hole this (black) plastic box and attach the filter there (using the instructions). I got one at a service and it took the mechanic 1 hours of swearing before it was in place

if im correct you should have two filters in the box that lock together.
if you look just under the glovebox you should see a ribbed section in the air box housing with two uphill screws (phillips type) remove these and the ribbed section should fall down. put one up first then slide the two together pushing the second one up and then slide the ribbed section in to the bottom one so the two filters are locked together and also locked to the ribbed section and then hook the back bit in first and put the two screws back in place to hold it all together. job done and takes about 30 secs when you know how to do them

Sorry, the bin men took the box away this morning.
Got it from Cheam Motors - they knew exactly what the part was when I asked. Frankly I was surprised they're not fitted as standard - apparently it's an "accessory"!
