Can someone "in the know" confirm that a standard WRX RA (1995) will be fitted with a 230mm Clutch

more likely 225mm, but hardly makes any odds. Assuming the flywheel is flat, they are interchangeable anyway.
Some early cars have a very slight recess on the flywheel surface. Just get it machined flat. If replacing, use the bigger clutch, as every little bit helps, and all later cars use it anyway

So a 230mm will fit my RA?

(It is the size the AP Racing paddle clutch that i am getting is)

Yes, just make sure flywheel gets skimmed, this should cost less than £50 to be done, and a good idea, especially when fitting a different sort of clutch (different friction material etc).
