What power do you reckon this little lot would be worth on a MY01 WRX

Please quote power at the wheels NOT flywheel

There's a small prize for the person guessing closest to the output claimed by the owner

VF30 Turbo
Blitz FMIC
Blitz BOV
Blitz boost controller
STI Injectors
uprated fuel pump
NGK Platinum plugs
De-catted uppipe
de-catted Downpipe
performance exhaust system
Re-mapped
1.2bar boost
everything else engine-wise is stock AFAIK

erm output claimed by the owner?

DO we take this to mean the actual power at the wheels is probably somewhat lower?

Is this person American, or quoting American horsepower?

Paul

No comment until I see some estimates

BTW, is there a mathematical difference between "American" horsepower and "British" horsepower?

Damn you're good!

He's quoting 303, turned boost down by 0.05bar and settled for 290 wheel hp.

Do they measure horsepower differently, then? Or do they add a constant BS factor?

I think you'll find there is a huge difference between American and british horsepower.

One is a unit of power, the other a waste product from a male bovine.

Maybe I was a bit harsh before, but for comparison, I think Tim Whitesides car is about 350 crank, at about 1.2 bar. So I would expect about 260ish wheel hp for his.

What's the prize?

Paul

I told him he was "mistaken" and that 303 whp equated to something like 450 bhp and that was impossible on the boost he's running, not to mention the stock internals.

He told me I didn't know what I was talking about (true) and that he had nothing to prove so why would he lie? Hmm maybe because you're bragging about it on the internet?
