Question

...or rising rate fuel regulator.

Are they any good on Scoobs (I remember these from my hot hatch days!) or does an uprated fuel pump do the job just as well ?

Your injectors and fuel pump will not be stressed until you fit a new turbo. Running mine at 18 PSI at 6700 RPM gives a 92% duty cycle at 8% CO fuelling with an uprated pump. If I go any further will go for a static increase in fuel pressure. The rising rate ones can be tricky to map around on a MAF based system. If the static rate is not enough, will need to go for 550s.

Agree with JB, even although I have an FSE regulator, I would recommend a 'non-rising' rate adjustable unit. If you have fitted an induction kit of sorts then an additional 0.2-0.3 bar of fuel pressure can help improve pick up at low rpm caused by leanness.

An uprated fuel pump is required before an adjustable regulator will do anything as the standard pump will struggle to maintain the flow on boost.
