I did this mod a while ago and it makes a gr8 difference to the front end. It's fairly straightforward and you can do it in under an hour. It's worth taking your time though, to make sure you don't break any of the wee plastic screwin thingys. (They're a pain in the ****)

By the way, I also bought a 99/00 spec bumper mounting beam before I fitted mine because I was told you neeeded one of these when doing the conversion. However, once I took the old bumper off and compared them they were exactly the same, the only difference is the older one has a bit for fixing the reg plate too which could be easily cut away if needed.

Anyway, as far as I can remember heres how to remove the bumper:

First off, remove front spots & indicators. Loosen off the wheel arch liners removing the plastic screw things this lets you gain access to the bolts which secure the ends of the bumper to the wings (2 x 10mm bolts on each side)

Next remove the 10mm bolt in bottom centre of the front air dam. I think theres a couple to be removed behind the reg plate too.
There's also 2 x flattish 17mm bolts underneath the bumper approx located in line with front spots which secure the bumper to the undertray.

Finally remove the 4 big 17mm bolts located in the engine bay (two just in front of battery, the other two are just in front of the air box. You should now be able to slide the front bumper forward. Once you unclip the hose for the headlight washers you can then withdraw the bumper fully.

Hope thats useful for you, good luck with it

Ian

Just to add that you dont need to remove the ind/spots, when you lift off the bumper after removing all the bolts simply disconnect the wiring connectors....
