er what receiver you aiming at???
i thought they were radio transmitters and not infra red, hence no need to aim at something.
sure you have not got the tv remote(only joking)
should work from about 10 metres away, battery could be on its way out though, as mega stream says put the fob on your chin and press it as the skeleton transmits the signal better.

possible that i've got this totally wrong, but my reciever (i think) is a small square infra-red looking thing, just by the map reading lights...
oh yeah, and that skeleton thing is freaky.

mine has one of those, i do not know what it is for though, mine is a my00.
just a thought do you have a infra red sender on your key fob, ignore the led near the button.if not its radio transmitted and you dont need to point it at the thing near the map lights.
turn your back to the car standing next to drivers door and press the button whilst touching your chin, this should confirm its radio and not remote. then repeat but do not touch your chin.
if it doesnt open the second time your batteries are dead.
oh another thing, are you parked near a mobile phone mast, if so it may not work. my dealer has a mast at the back of their garage and it can sometimes take 5 mins to get into a car, they have to keep trying between signals!
bizarre or what.

strange stuff...
slightly scared at how my work colleagues will view me after seeing me standing in the car park with a key fob under my chin...
i'm pretty sure it's infra-red, as operating it from the back of the car (i.e through the rear window) gives much greater range. also, might be worth pointing out that it looks nothing like some of the other scoob keyfobs i've seen - although does have scoob logo on it...

is black on the back, blue on the front with black border and black button and white subaru and stars logo. does it say mpt1340 wt licence exempt on the back?
what model year?
it could be it works best from the back because thats where the aerial for the alarm unit is!

p20spd, doesn't look anything like that!!!
(suspect this may be a euro import difference) it's an my00 - the keyfob is small(ish) and all black with 'subaru' written on the back. there's just one button on it, and no led to show when it's activating...
ah well, i will change the battery anyway..! thanks!
