#1
COULD ANYBODY OUT THERE TELL ME WHAT TEMP THE INDUCTION AIR SHOULD BE (PRE INTERCOOLER) ON MY CAR IF THE AMBIENT TEMP IS 20 deg C AND MY BOOST PRESSURE IS 17 PSI.
P.S. MY CAR IS A STD MY99 APART FROM A PPP.
THANKS EVERY BODY

There is no simple, straight forward answer to this as it depends on the engine speed. You will see up to 70 degrees C - some have seen up to 80 C - at high revs when the turbo is least efficient.

Air temps BEFORE the intercooler can be very high. You can expect to see over 100 degC. I have seen graph plots of other cars, with air temps over 150 degC. Never tested a subaru though, but would not expect it to be any different. It will depend on type of turbo, and boost presssure

I think he means.... pre intercooler as in 'PRE turbo' i.e the air being sucked in through the filter and not the air that has been compressed by the turbo.... before it enters the intercooler...

STEVE, THE TURBO IS THE STANDARD ITEM AND THE BOOST IS 17 PSI (THIS IS WHAT I AM TOLD THE PPP PRODUCES).
DAN, I DID MEAN THE TEMP AFTER THE TURBO AND BEFORE THE INTERCOOLER.
CHEERS,
MIKE.
