My mate's scooby is running like a bag of cr4p!!

It feels like something is choking the performance, when your driving it quite hard, it ocassionaly will not even get to the red line. This has been getting Progressively worse over the last couple of weeks.

Furthermore, it appears to have a random but terrible misfire!!

In addition, i took it out tonight and drove it quite slowly and found that in 3rd gear at 3500 - 4000 rpm there was a horrible tearing noise, sort of like the sound of tappets. Can anyone explain this.

It is very erratic and indeed confusing as it has just been fully serviced including a new cam belt.

 

if it has just been serviced and had a cam belt change, maybe the cam timing is off. I would think about taking it back to be adjusted.

Sounds just like my car!!!

I'm taking it back again tomorrow..... the problem is when I've taken it back before its been fine and pulled like a train on the road test!!!
