The reason I ask is that I've just had to replace the instrument panel on my MY98 'cos the speedo's a bit dicky, and I can't remember if the oil light is supposed to illuminate just before you turn the key to fire the starter motor.

Bit of a cheeky request, but it'll save me taking the instrument panel out to check the bulb.

Hope some kind-hearted scoobynetter can help me out.

Bound to be the same, but my UK STI oil light is on when the ignition is switched on.

I've discovered the cause. It's not the bulb, I've just had a set of Defi's fitted, including Oil Pressure, and the original oil pressure sender gets disconnected during fitting so the dash light won't come on. The guys at Scoobymania put me straight.
