My MY97WRX is going to have the PE Phase 1 conversion soon. There have been some threads about this recently.
Heres one from a few days ago http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=107573
There is also a before and after Dyno plot on the PE website for an STi IV, with this conversion. http://www.powerengineering.co.uk/su...dynographs.htm

Bruce - many thanks for that.
I am a little confused though - I called Power Engineering recently & was told they dont do an ECU Upgrade for an STi4 (98MY) ??
Looking at these dyno plots I would buy one today - the gains are very impressive.

Edited to say that PE do indeed do an STi upgrade - just been on their site !

Apexi Power FC, a full mappable straight ECU replacement. they are 750 from http://www.rcdevelopments.com. plus 5 hours mapping charge. I am having one on my MY98 in a week or so
The PE upgrade seems to come and go.They did do it but then stopped because of some 'incidents'.(I'm not saying they were to blame.I d'ont know).Personally I'd steer clear of the Apexi unit as it is an unknown quantity as it has been recently released.I would'nt want to be a guinea pig.It may well be good, but I'd wait until its been proven.Link would be my choice both for price and reliability

Alan, not quite sure what you mean. The 700 BHP Skylines have got Apexi units or PE upgrades? If Apexi, then I meant its onproven as yet on Scoobs. Not saying its bad just an unknown quantity.Anyway my Scoobs got 700 BHP(LOL)
Any Apexi products I have come across have been of very good quality, and probably a lot better than HKS, which is really overpriced. It also sounds pretty cheap, if it is only £750. At least it opens the ecu to anyone, for mapping rather than making it only programmable by PE. Should further mods require re-mapping you could take the car to an competent tuner, or if you are up to it, try yourself. Although be careful with that one...
The Apexi unit gives the mapper far more control over the cars fueling, 20 points I think, better than anything else on the market. That said though, its only going to be as good as the guy who maps your car.

another vote for the gems,
you get 2 maps on the gems, so you can have one for normall unleaded as you cant allways find super/optimax
