Handbrake light on

My handbrake light nevers goes off (and yes I have released it) took the covering off and theres a pin and a couple of wires but not much else... nothing looks broken - any ideas? (95 WRX)

Also means that you are possibley low on brake fluid.
Check the resovoir and also give the float a prod as mine got stuck and caused the same problem.

Thanks Scott - you're a star - quick prod of the float (plenty of brake fluid in there too) and the light on the dash now goes out. cheers

I've also got a 95WRX with a similar problem, i.e. some days the light doesn't go off until I've been driving around for a while. Will check the float when I next go to the car.
