Turbo bonnet on a Sport
#1
If I fit a Turbo bonnet with vents and scoops on a Sport will any mods need to be done as rain coming in through the scoop can't be good for the engine can it?
Any one done this or any one have any idea's???

The only one you have to worry about is the scoop... the vents are blocked off, although you can unblock them.
It would not be difficult to block off the scoop too if you so wished.
Assuming the Sport engine is the same as the Turbo minus the obvious then you Starter motor will get wet.. have a look at what is at the top end (just below the screen) to see what will get wet.
It has been done many times before so I am sure you will not have too many problems.. you could cover the starter motor with a bit of plastic?

The two vents either side of the Turbo bonnet have trays under them which collects any water and is then lets it out the bottom through one small hole into the engine bay, and the scoop obviously goes straight into the intercooler with no water catching device.
Guess what i'm trying to say is that there is no method of dispersing water away from the turbo engine, so it shouldn't make any difference to your Sport.
You may get a small amount of water in whilst on the move through the IC scoop, but not enough to worry about?
Unless anyone thinks any different?
Nick.
