Gas tank pressure
Hey guys , 1995 GF8 STi , JDM with EJ20G
I've read through some of the other posts via search , and looked around on Google, tried my best so wanted to come in here.
Whenever I open the gas cap, high pressure escapes.
Changed the gas cap with OE Subaru. Took the hoses off the charcoal canister and blew them out, they seem to flow freely. There is a one way valve going into the engine via vacuum hose, seems to work appropriately. There is a one way valve going into the canister, that also seems to work.
My canister has 2 small vacuum lines on top, and one large hose at the bottom of it.
What am I missing? I saw some Outbacks have a valve or a solenoid somewhere that causes problems... Can y'all point me in a direction please.
The car runs fine without any issues, I just do not like the build up of pressure.

Yea it's pressure man. I feel it in my hand when opening the cap, escaping around the cap.
EDIT:
I did forget to mention, with the engine running I pulled the two vacuum line off the top of the canister, I wasn't able to feel any suction....

95 wrx`s don't have purge solenoids only the UK spec ones came with an actual solenoid, the purge system works continuously via the pressure in the charcoal canister
The excess pressure isnt normal, i had a similar issue once i upgraded to parallel fuel lines
Make sure the line going either to the throttle body is connected and creating the vacuum from canister or the canister itself isnt blocked
you can remove the charcoal canister permanently or to test its working ok and see if the pressure is reduced
you should get a slight hiss or slight whoosh but nothing that is audibly excessive
