Default Classic impreza water in light.

I have a 1998 classic uk impreza turbo and it is getting water in the rear light but not through the seal so i wondered if anyone else has had this and cured it as it has also rotted the bulb holders so i need a bulb holder loom.

Never heard of that before, sure there's no crack in it? Normally it comes from the seal between the bodywork and the light.

After it rains, check if there is water where the jack is.

Boot seal could be the issue or the seals around where the lights fit to the car. If you need a set of replacement lights I have some gathering dust.

No water where the jack is or in the boot only in the light and there is no crack.

Best way is to get in the boot and have someone go at it with a hose.
I used to have an issue with mine, but it was repaired badly after a rear end smash. I just used loads of that Sikaflex, or whatever the non curing sealant is.

Had one did this, searched diligently and there was a tiny tiny crack in the rear of the housing.
Filled it with non setting mastic.
To dry it out I got a piece of mains wire 1.5mm sq about ten inches long, made a loop at one end, then used the loop, suitably squashed, to hold bits of paper towel.
From the coloured side you can guide the paper towel down until it gets to any moisture, then replace the towel and go again.

Could the water get in through the reversing light lens joint.
