Hi guys can any body help me out here, just got my Type R version 5 fresh import in from Japan.
Picked it up from Southampton docks, filled it with 99 octane shell on way home, drove 120miles from the docks to my house with out any problems… few days later drive it again to my local garage just to see the underside, again drove excellent with out missing a beat.
Come yesterday after being parked up for 2 weeks, the car starts but then completely shuts off after 5-8secs, even if i keep the accelerator down it still dies out… again I will fire it up, it will start up straight away but then cuts off after 5-8secs?
Iv cleaned the MAF with electrical cleaner, but still no joy?…. I will try to post a video.
Any help would be appreciated

Have you got fuel..... Past the pump could be that, just seems weird it was running and then not, what about a relay or an earth.

 

try unplugging the MAF and see if it starts / runs??

did you experience any issues at all on collection??

 

Checked the battery?

 

Fuel filter is probably blocked.
many moons ago my mum had a fiesta and while on a drive it died. As came out and it started only to die a mile down the road.

A blockage in the carb was restricting the flow of fuel
