Hi guys
so cars been absolutely fine since last post but this weekend I decided to take it for a proper run and used it to take me and the girt to Scarborough. About 120 miles
so from our journey from home to Scarborough car was fine and not a problem until 15miles out of Scarborough then started rising up suddenly to 3/4 towards red bar, now usually I manage to drive the car for about 1 hour over the whole week and it’s town/city driving so I’ve now managed to narrow it down to when I’m off boost or in a higher gear in a low speed so say 4th at 30mph the temp will rise now if I knock it into 3rd and accelerate the temp comes down instantly to normal.

bit baffled but wanted your folks thoughts before I go spending fun tokens on it again.

new water pump Fitted 3 month ago or so
cam belt etc tensioner blah blah blah same time
new rad caps as last Garage replaced them
heater blows hot/cold as normal

Start with the basics mate.

Coolant change and bled properly
Test the fan to make sure it's working
Thermostat
Radiator pipes getting hot on both sides or just one

I spoke to garage and think gonna go down the route of new rad and thermostat.

mots been flushed and bled a couple of times now as I didn’t trust what area 52 had actually done at all.

I’ll get those two things fitted and then go from there again.

You can drive about sedately for weeks with a partially blown head gasket SOMETIMES. It's when you start applying boost the problem rears its head.

Yeah it’s abit of a weird one
in hoping that the fact when I put my foot down it cools the engine down it’s something less sinister

All your doing is circulating the cool water from the rad round quicker masking the problem.
