Default Boost solenoid

Hi guys, I’ve had a quick look around and can’t find an exact answer

my 96 is currently running an sti 3 port EBCS, I’ve found my Mac one that I took off my last impreza, is there any point fitting it?
is it an upgrade to the sti one? Or is it literally the same job in a different casing?
thanks!

Is it just a BCS or a boost controller. If just a solenoid no difference but I would leave well alone cause if you change it a map tweak would be required and a v3 can't be mapped unless the ecu is upgraded. Like they say if its not broke don't fix it.
