Default Transmission swap Auto to Manual?

Hi All

Anyone know if you can put an engine that was mated to an auto into a car with manual transmission.

Contemplating an engine swap from Import Forester auto into my 97 UK turbo Impreza.

Ages very similar but I need to know if it'll fit.

Basically I need to do the head gaskets but my engine has over 200,000 miles on it and I dont have time to do a full rebuild, a swap would be much easier as far as time goes!

Cheers

as long as its the same style heads / inlet manfold then simply swap all of your ancillaries onto the new block.........

at MY97 you should have a ph1.5 style engine and as long as the Foz is no newer than MY98 it will be basically the same
