Default Reverse lockout pull

My hawk has the classic really annoying rattle from the reverse lock out so I plan to swap it sharpish.

Looming at the parts list it looks like the oem one comes with a cable that needs joining yet the Cobb one (which looks amazing) comes without it.

Can the cable be joined at the gear stick end without needing to go under the car?

I've looked and looked and can't find any threads

Have you looked at the Perrin ones they are a straight swap. If you are carefull you can do it without having to jack the car up.

looks identical to the cobb one but I really hate the huge logo on it.

Is it just a matter of reconnecting the wire at the **** end?

Yes it has a roll pin in it like the OEM one. If you keep it in reverse while you fit it you don't need to jack up. I put mine in first to knock the pin out then left the punch through it so I could put it into reverse then changed the lockout lever.

Watch the relevant parts of this VID (or similar)

For removing the pin it's easier with an extractor (home made)

The original OEM 6MT lever should come with plastic coated sliding surfaces in way of the lock ring.
If worn or a loose fit, it can be supplemented with some heat shrink over the top of the existing.
