we have found the Mishimoto, whilst being decent quality construction wise fail at their most basic task of "cooling" and in general terms a std good quality radiator is superior...............

Having just upgraded to a mishimoto radiator we found the build quality, fit and cooling efficiency to be perfect, not to mention that it is twice as thick as a MY15 standard radiator so it stands to reason there would be an improvement.

When researching before I bought a new radiator it seems a lot of complaints can be attributed to incorrect installation.

The caps have to be swapped and the black mishimoto cap goes on the expansion tank.

There is actually a disclaimer on mishimoto’s website saying that failure to do this will result in over heating.

Would be interested to see evidence of quality or cooling issues

I haven't seen a mishimoto rad myself, so cannot comment on the general quality (which may be fine, who knows), but what you need is surface area , not thickness.

The extra thickness will have almost no effect on cooling, and will add weight at the very front of the car.

I'd personally follow stockcars advice on this one

Have to agree, been running mine fine on my 2.35 for years now still keeping the temps down...but saying that the standard o.e radiator was working fine when my engine was running around the 450bhp level.SJ.

I had an OE one fail on me when the plastic split at 350bhp, pi$$ed it’s pants and dropped all the coolant.
Tig welded aluminium for me ta.

That's just newness they generally last 10+ years when the fans cut in the temps drop substantially quicker with oem rad.

Anyone got feedback on the 36mm koyorads? I wouldn‘t mind paying extra to get rid of the plastic tanks if it performs equal or better to stock.
As far as I‘m aware my stock radiator has been going strong since 05!

Running a standard radiator here at 680bhp. Never had an issue even when running over 600bhp for sustained periods on track. Never had a reason to look at changing it for anything else.
