Question Headgasket Repair

My 2005 WRX needs the headgasket replacing and I'm struggling to find a garage in my local area to fix it, none of them seem to want to touch it as they say they don't have the room.

Can anyone recommend a good reliable garage that can fix it around the Lancaster area, or does anyone know the price of having it transported around the country?

Might be worth trying TEG sport in carnforth as they are Subaru specialists and do a top job.
Only 15 minutes from Lancaster.

Also, I've heard that when headgaskets go on 2.5s they need a fully engine rebuild. Is that the same 2.0s?

Not alwasys, but given the age i expect a full refresh would be the way to go as the engiens appraoching 15 years old. might be time for a nice forged build hehe

Any engine really not just the Subaru range.
Coolant in the lubricating oil can thicken the oil, reducing the flow to the bearings as well as causing acidity in the oil over a period of time.
This acidity tends to pit/attack the surface of the bearings as well the cylinder walls and can lead to premature wear and failure.
And as Tidgy said above - age/mileage is also a factor in recommending a full strip and build when the head gaskets have failed.
