Knocking

I took my 06 impreza wrx to get the secondary air pump removed but since then there has been knocking on cold start up for the the the pump should be running. Anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it?

you mean nocking coming form the engine? if so may have dropped the bottom end

It sounds like it's coming from behind the engine but because it's only doing it for about a minute on cold start it's very hard to pinpoint.

removing the air pump system and modifying / deleting the ECU codes shouldn't have any impact or noise on the car

sounds more like they have left a bracket loose or whatever??
