Hi all a friend has a 2.5 wrx and is looking to fit a td05 because his seals are fooked. Is a td 05 OK.? Thanks

Yes, should work.

He will need a remap, though, and should also change at the very minimum, the up-pipe to one without a cat (it is right that the 2.5 WRX still has a cat in the up-pipe?).

Ideally also change the downpipe to something better flowing when in there taking bits apart.

Then he could also change the intercooler, perhaps. Having said that, people have ran td05s on a standard WRX intercooler.

Iv seen them fitted on EJ20 wrx engines so I can’t see why it would be different on an EJ25. Obviously would need to be mapped, and is likely to shorten the life of the standard 5-speed though.
