Default 2006 STI Windscreen removal

Hey fellas,

Need a bit of help.
I'm looking to do a respray on my 2006 Hawk STI and have an issue with the molding around the windscreen.
I would like to take the molding off but leave the screen in situ if that's possible. I can't find anything that confirms whether this can be done or not.

So could anyone confirm that I will be able to leave the windscreen in the car or whether it will have to come out so I can paint the car.

Cheers

Daz

It's not always sucessful in trying to remove it with out damage.

The moulding is usually retained by the adhesive used to fit the windscreen glass as it is a U shaped channel over the edge of the glass - see cross sectional image in pdf attached.
To keep it securely in place whilst fitting have seen it superglued to the glass edge before the adhesive is applied over it.
