Hi all,

Anyone know how much it costs to get a scooby clutch fitted? I've found a standard replacement clutch kit for £200 from Graham Goode Racing, but no-one's web sites seem to say how much to fit !

Scoobysport mentioned £600 all in for an uprated helix clutch but that's more than I wanted to pay really and I don't think I neeed an uprated clutch yet.

Appreciate any help!

cheers,
Alex

Try Mike Rivett on 01306 628009. He gave me a price of about 350+VAT for parts and labour. Subaru usually want about a grand but they supply uprated pressure plate and new fly wheel. If your getting a lot of judder, it may be worth getting yours skimmed.

hi rjben, I am getting alot of judder and it's soon to start slipping I think...it slip during normal driving but last time I tried a proper take off it slipped during 1st 2nd change...bite point is very far up as well...so will a new clutch fix all the above problems? Or is the judder something else?

As far as I'm aware judder is related to the flywheel rather the the clutch. i.e. the clutch cuts a negative pattern into the flywheel, judder occurs when your clutch dosn't seat into the negative pattern due to contraction of flywheel (guess?) or ****ty build up from clutch. Thats why riding you clutch in 3rd of 4th a little will fix it for a while. Your best off getting your flywheel skimmed or getting a new flywheel, not sure where from and not sure how good skimming is! New clutch will certainly get fix slip, but beware if your car is modded as a pattern pressure plate may not deal with the tourqe, Subaru now fot P1 plate as standard I think.

If you get a pattern part, tell me how it goes. I've not changed my clutch yet, although it's not got long to go.

Hope this helps,

Rob

rjben yeh will let you know no probs. So far I've found £300 fitting price, and £200 for standard OEM clutch kit so £500, or scoobysport do the helix fitted for £600 I think. But the Pete Croney said he wouldn't fit a new clutch without replacing the flywheel with an exchange item. HE didn't mention this in the £600 so I can only assume it takes it into the high £600s or £700 area.

Stan cheers I'll give em bell when I can stomach the financial hit

cheers,
Alex

Recently had my cluth replaced. The cost was not as much as originally thought.£189+VAT for OEM clutch and £120+VAT labour from a reputable local garage.I checked to see if the garage had experience with imprezas/Legacys/Foresters, otherwise you pay for their training. Good luck.

Thumbs up

I can reccommend Mike Rivett also

Thanks for pointing him out Rob. On the subject of clutch judder he can provide a skimmed flywheel for £40 on an exchange basis, oh and he quoted me £150 to fit a clutch. I also thought that clutch judder is also countered by changing the pressure plate for a P1/STI one.
