Default V3 STi Lambda/o2 sensor replacement

Hi all,

I have just picked my new oem lambda sensor up and I am ready to install it.

Is it as simple as removing the old one and putting the new one in? Do I need to reset the ecu once installed and do I need to torque it to ensure a good fit? Or is tightening it by hand with a spanner sufficient?

Any advice on this would be appreciated! Cheers

Yep just swap it over 22mm long 6 point socket cut the old wire off and out with it. Good luck don't use 12 point socket unless its been out recently. ECU reset wouldn't do any harm.

Thanks Joe, what is the reason for cutting the wire? I was just going to unplug it

You won't get a socket over it with the cable still on it unless you use one of the special sockets with a cut out on the side, obviously if you can get a spanner on it then leave the cable on.

Na na no special sockets (They still spread) wire off and 6 point socket 99% of spanners are 12 point. If you have a 6 point 22mm spanner all well and good but not many will have one. They are generally proper tight if they've been in there a while and you don't want to take the corners off it
