Default Almost a catastrophe

Was just giving the car a good check over as i have just bought it and found this little surprise hiding behind the cam cover . Full service history and cambelt change in 2015 but looks like the belt holder was fitted incorrectly.

I had the same on my wrx. I bought it with "cambelt changed" on the ad, but it was done by some backstreet place.
I had it done properly some months later by Tim Farmer who found the guide had been tightened down onto the belt, which had then scored a groove in the belt, and the guide had got hot enough to burn off the plating.
The belt was starting to crack in various places where it had melted and stuck to the guide after a long run.
Very nearly a disaster.
