Default Help!! Any tricks to remove crank pulley nut?

As per the title, I spent an hour trying to remove the cam belt covers today and ended up breaking and smashing them off due to the bolts just spinning, then came to the crank pulley nut.....

I can’t seem to get any real leverage on the pulley to stop it turning, I’ve no brakes but i tried putting the car in gear, that didn’t help. Tried wedging a crow bar between to long bolts passed through the pulley and placed against the alternator and it just bent the bolts.

Is there a sure fire method or a tool I can buy?

10mm Allen key in the gap at the back of the engine, there should be a plastic cover, take it off and you'll see the flywheel, lock it with the Allen key, long bar on the crank pulley nut,job done
