Lock flywheel to remove crank pulley?
I am hoping to change the timing belt soon, howeve the front of my car is on axel stands at the moment, I have heard it's possible to lock the flywheel via the the rubber flap under the intercooler so I can remove the crank pulley.
Is it just a case of jamming a long srew driver down it or is there some kind of hole in the flywheel to stop it moving?
Thanks

Thanks very much for the reply, wont the car need to be in gear and and a second person pressing the brakes for this method?
The front of my car is in the air on stands as I've sent the calipers away for a refurbishment, if the car needs to be in gear and I turn the key for a split second there's a chance of the car moving forward.
Or have I misunderstood you lol?

As above - a quick flick of the key ( in neutral ) is enough to crack the pulley bolt loose.
or ...... wedge a 10mm allen key in the flywheel ring gear through the rubber bung to lock the engine.
