Default rear diff leak?

Hey guys,

My rear diff on a jdm MY98 GF8 seems to be leaking. I unbolted the filler bolt and lowered the jack while the bolt was off. On a level surface, dif fluid started to leak out so I know its full.

I cleaned the drain/fill bolt area and I cant find a leak. My garage floor has no liquid leak. Are there any other places on the diff where there is a potential leak?

Update, I pressure washed my rear diff last week. I just chexked the diff and it's still clean.

Any idea to what is causing this? A friend said there is a breather on the top. If the cover gasket is leaking there should be fluid on the cement no? The pics I provided seem like the whole diff has an oily residue.

Has the car had any CV joint boot issues previously which has maybe thrown grease onto the differential ?

Looking at that its your input shaft seal. Oil doesn't travel forward not a difficult job.

Thank you, stupid question but input seal is part of the differential where the axle goes into?

Would this input seal cause my whole diff to look like that?

Where the propshaft from the gearbox goes in. Yes it would make the diff look like that oil doesn't blow forward

Thank you!! This might be a big job that I can handle. Do you have to remove the rear diff to change that seal?
