Is this engine knock!? Subaru Impreza RS 2002

It is getting pretty old now and has 280'000kms on the clock, and the oil light constantly flickers on and off but I am always topping it up although I don't know if that is working.... how else could I fix it?
I am thinking of upgrading soon if this can't be fixed but it would be really sad to see it go
