Default Gearbox knocking

@m456vdm , Today 05:50 PM
Sooooo. I was full throttle in 3rd gear got to about 6000rpm and bang. Constant knocking from gearbox. Pressed clutch but noise still there stopped car. 1st gear is fine. Won't go into 2nd 3rd is banging 4th has a slight knock 5th is fine. Erm is it fixable haha

Yes! cheaper option just buy/fit good second-hand 5 speed box.

Hi mate. Thanks for reply. How do I know which box to get. I keep reading about the ratios have to match the diff. I'm unsure what will fit etc. My car is a 1994 turbo 2000. Running 340 bhp

Look above the starter motor on the bell housing and with a bit of luck there will be a white sticker it'll be your gearbox code and you'll be able to work out your ratios from that. As long as there's been no surgery it should also be on strut top as well.
