Default Fuel filter

Folks,

I notice that the service schedule for my Hawk STi includes periodic replacement of the fuel filter. The filter for the 2.5L car is in the tank. Do they need replacement? The various parts suppliers only seem to stock the external filter used for the 2.0L engines.

Anyone shed any light on the matter?

David
