Default Changing steering wheel and airbag light?

Hi All.
Looking to swap from the standard steering wheel to a Sparco 325 for trackdays etc. Car is a P1.

If I remove the standard wheel, airbag and clockspring. is it possible to hide or take out the cable for the airbag so that it can be re used at a later date if I put the standard wheel back on one day? or does it have to be cut like I have seen some people doing online? if it has to be cut I wont bother doing it.

Also I have seen that I will need a resistor to stop the airbag light coming on?
Anyone have any info on this, ie what resistor and where will it have to go?

Thanks

Will

If the car has a passenger air bag which I'm pretty sure a P1 has your MOT tester will/should be looking for the sequence when the ignition is turned on if not present it will/should be a fail.

Yeah P1 does have the passenger airbag so will have to make sure bags/lights work as they should.
