Question Replace BOV with Recirc

Hi All,

Currently running approx 450 using Syvecs, fully forged 2.5 with FMIC - the FMIC came with a crap sounding BOV which I definitely want to replace, so what would you advise from the following options:

1 - Get an adaptor and refit standard recirc, what are the power limits of these?

2 - Replace with an uprated Recirc - GFB / Turbosmart / something else?

If option 2 - can you give me a specific model please?

Cheers,
Paul

A). Cheapest route is to get the adaptor (from AS Performance)... Assuming you still have the OEM DV and recirc hose still knocking about!? Pretty sure the diaphragm will not leak on those. What's your peak boost level at, <=1.7bar? Pretty certain that's what's needed for 450 on the 2.5, IIRC from Dave at API (back when they were a thing lol).

B). Or do as I did, and get the metal Forge v.3/4-pattern piston-type recirc. Quality item.

Its bottom port would a attach to the IC pipe's DV port with a short silicone piece and two small jubilees.

You'd then need to contrive a rubber or silicone hose from the DV's 90-deg recirc port, back to the DV port on the turbo intake hose. API used a Bugeye's recirc hose on my setup, IIRC.

my standard oem valve leaked at those levels, fitted Turbosmart re-circ and never looked back. They are expensive but from experience I wouldn't use anything else.

Can't argue with that.

There you go OP... Get a TS recirc then.
Job done.

I'm fairly certain it's the Plumb Back TS-0205 1216 or 1215 is blue. Turbo Dynamics have them on their website. I'll double check the connection on my car in the morning and confirm.
