Default Need opinions on turbo and clutch.

Hello folks,

I have a MY98 impreza turbo which is getting some work done this summer.

My engine is currently with AS performance to change some things:.
It's a 2.0 FCD V1 WRX engine that will be fitted with V4 STI heads.
This will happen to the engine itself:

- Relocating main bearing
- ACL bearings
- STI hatch rods
- STI crankshaft
- Mahle 2618 pistons
- RCM 11mm uprated head stud kit
- RCM 11mm oil pump
-...

I already have unequal headers, FMIC, 750cc injectors, full 3 inch exhaust,..

I'm aiming for about 420-430Hp
Now i'm in doubt with the turbo i want. I think i will go with the SC42 from scoobyclinic but i want to hear some other proposals first.

Also i run an ESL board atm. Will this still do the job?

And will the competition clutch stage 2 hold this power or would i need to aim higher on my clutch?

regards,
Fred

I don't think there is a better turbo out there for your power goal, it's that excellent I will continue to keep it rarther than upping the power, and I've also got a CC stage2 and coped well.

a 42 will be borderline over the rod limit so wouldn't go any bigger.

For that power level you should consider the rcm 11mm extreme head studs not the std 'high tensile' ones as they are only rated for 350bhp. For me at least, they let go around that power level.
