Boot lid won't stay up.
Hi, tonight I got my first ever scoobie, a 2006 wrx hawk eye in grey. About the only thing that's wrong with it is the boot lid won't stay up. Further inspection showed no gas struts but a tortion bar runing the length of the front of the boot behind the rear seats that's only attached to the boot hinge at one end and doesn't look like it can hold itself up not alone the boot lid. Does anyone know the best solution to this.
Thanks.
Thanks.

There should be two torsion bars fitted, one attached to each hinge.
There are also various bars (different strengths) fitted depending upon which spoiler is fitted to the lid or not.
It would seem the spoiler may have been upgraded at sometime but not the torsion bars

Any idea where to get them.
It stays open but let me try and explain this. So when you open the boot you have to open it all the way or it just closes. The newage ones seem a lot better and freer moving.
On one of my classics I know it was a replica spoiler so was a lot heavier as the car never came witha spoiler from factory. The classic I have now has a carbon fibre one but has a similar issue
Only thing I can think of is the spoiler should be lighter than the factory STI high lever one but is heavier than the stock mid level spoiler due to over all size or the tensioner has worn out loads.
What do you guys think or is it just that the classics were different.
