spare key reprogramming newage blob
Hi guys.
I was just wondering what the score was with regards to getting keys programmed so they work on the fob. Or if mines just broken?
My cars an 04 WRX, one key is fully working but the spare, it works the ignition but wont do anything remotely. So say for instance I locked it with the working key on the fob and lost that key or it broke, then tried to enter the car with the other key the alarms would obviously go off and i'd have to put the pin in the little keypad to disarm.
I have changed the battery in the spare key but still nothing happens when I press the remote button. So once the battery has died in these fobs do they need re programming/syncing back with the car? Or is it just knackered. Both keys, by the way are original Subaru ones.
TIA. Aaron.

programming the remote lock/unlock is a separate function from syncing the key with the immobiliser in the car.
Read here for how to program the buttons to lock/unlock the car:
http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...RemoteControls
Only takes a few mins if you have all your keys to hand.

Thanks for the reply mate. I was actually aware of that info but wasn't sure if it was still relevant on a new age? As my old classic had the same style fob as shown in that post but my new age blob is key and fob all in one. Thanks.
