Default Brake lights

Before I start investigating has anyone else had rear brake lights stop working but the high level led brake light in spoiler is still ok, this rules out the switch. Not sure if all on same fuse. It's a 2005 jdm widetrack sti

Thanks

You've had the bulbs out?

Check wiring from where the high level brake light branches off, if bulbs are OK. It's not rare for both bulbs to go at once.

Thanks, very strange but both bulbs had gone, swapped them for the reversing bulbs for now and will replace those weekend. Hopefully a one off but I find it unusual both gone at same time.

Not strange if you think about it: they both go on and off for exactly the same amount of time at exactly the same time.
