Default Newage stock airbox repair

It seems the newage (Hawk in this case) stock airbox is made from some pretty crummy plastic. I've had a K&N panel filter fitted for a while now, and didn't realise it but the plastic tab on the air box lower section had broken - it looks like the K&N filter rubber seal is thicker than the stock part putting more stress on the plastic.

I didn't want any chance of an air leak downstream of the filter, so I bought another airbox from someone on here, and that broke to when I tried to fit it, this time on the other tab!

I tried to glue it back together but it didn't hold at all, and didn't want to spend any more dosh, so I cut up an old door hinge and made a bracket from one side and a backing plate from the other. In the case of either tab you can bolt through the outer of the moulding without drilling into the airbox.

Getting it back into the car I needed to assemble the two halves of the airbox, filter in place, off the car and work it back in place before fitting the bolts.

If anyone else has the same problem, this is a cheap and easy way to fix it!
