Only Subaru coolant?!

Default Only Subaru coolant?!

Hi guys

Im replacing my thermostat on my hatch tomorrow and im going to flush out the system and put new coolant in.

Read somewhere online that you should only use Genuine Subaru coolant?!

Id planned to use Shell Longlife.....

Any thoughts on this?

Nah don't need Subaru one, pink/red stuff glycone or whatever it's called is all you need.

Do either of u know what exact one i can use? Sounds daft, just dont wana put the wrong one in! I thought coolant was coolant 🙃

Officially you should only use the Subaru stuff, but plenty have used the Motul Inugel Optimal, Fuchs Fricofin Longlife and Millers Alpine Red without issues.

I don't have the most accurate answer, but it will be somewhere between 7 and 8 litres.
