Default Cat Replacement

Hi All.
I have a 1976 2L Impreza GL and I need to change the rear cat because it's rotted. A new one from Subaru is more than the car is worth. Tried Europart and others but none of the ones offered will fit. Any suggestions please?

Have you tried import car parts?

Failing that, does the GL have a cat in the downpipe?
Maybe you could get a catless mid section and still pass emissions? Worth checking.
