Question worth me running meth?

Back in the day, I use to run methanol in my old modded classic, so I know what is involved etc

I now have a bug with basic mods, and am wondering if it is worth running it with meth.

I do around 2-3k miles max a year, will the meth go off in the tank?

mods

jdm sti
sports cat, 3 inch system
rmc fuel pump
ramair induction kit
mafless
NGK pfr7b
alloy rad
bov

Im going to have it mapped with carberry rom, with antilag, launch and twin boost.

So when it is mapped, keep with just v-power, or v-power and meth?

thanks
ian

Be pointless as there more easily ways of getting extra out the car, i only used meth in mine as my lm450 turbo was maxed out amd wanted a little more, its a bit of a pain and for the low miles you do it wont be worth it as you will need to drain the tank, i also think its pointless on an ecu with one map.

In short yes. It will start to corrode fittings and pipework. Most people who use methanol in race cars flush the fuel sytem to remove mixed fuel.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to use methanol unless you have at least two maps so you can run straight pump fuel.
I'm not saying it can't be done, but it's a right PITA to keep flushing the system, and you really don't want corrosion contaminating the fuel system, and I am talking from experience.

in my old classic, I ran meth for a few years and never had any problems.

1l meth to 9l v-power is what i use to use.

but then the scoob was my only car, so got used a lot more, where the bug now is just for fun, so not racking up as many miles

I'm all for using meth, it's the cheapest power you can get. And if car doesn't see many miles then even better !!
Not sure what everyone's going on about above with draining tanks etc.. there's no need, if you're worried about the meth going off then don't park the car up with a full tank of fuel.
I ran meth in my last classic for a couple years with a single map. Why would you want to swap between straight fuel and meth anyway ?

Rather than running my bug with Meth in the fuel and suitably mapped. I am going water Meth injection into the manifold. Okay you don't get the full benefits of running fuel/Meth mix but you don't need to map accordingly.

Are you using 4 jets, one for each cylinder? The car would have to be mapped initially for the extra fuel. Trev
