lambda sensor question
hi, my lambda sensor on my headers is welded in and faulty but cant get the thing out, can i put one in the up pipe instead and will it work and read the same, otherwise il have to source a replacement but that section is never on sale on its own. i have a v2 wrx
don't stick it in the up pipe - when the tip breaks off the sensor it will go full speed into the turbo. Stick it behind the turbo in the downpipe (same as it would be on a classic or JDM car) and job done. Do try and get the old sensor removed at some point though.
I have only 1 lambda sensor on my car and it is in the collector of my gt spec headers ?
i have a bung on my downpipe after the turbo,
would it just be a case of putting it there or will it mess with the map as i would be moving it from before the turbo to after ???

no you can move the stock one from the bung on the headers to the bung behind the turbo and it runs just the same other than the extra delay in readings so your cruise emissions will be a little less than what mr subaru had intended. Idle emissions are the same though the advantage of if the sensor breaks off it doesn't go to kiss your turbos exhaust wheel
mine is a classic jdm the original is where the uppipe meets the headers on the headers, so it will be ok on the downpipe then mate?
